My childhood in ruins.

Back from Ireland. Good to see the place, old friends and get myself plenty pissed.

Things are changing in my hometown of Navan. It sheds it's skin like a snake every ten years. Of all the buildings torn down since I'd last been there I was glad to see that the old swimming pool was still there in mostly one piece, luckily I was able to find some time for a little B&E before I left.

Just one of the many occurrences in my life that I'm not entirely sure happened.

It was a few nights ago, around eleven o clock I needed to take a piss in McDonald's.

I went into the gents and when I opened the door there was a large bald man, stripped to the waist washing up at one of those automated sinks. His clothes lay in neat orderly piles on the ground, his shoes were there too.

If I'd have left then I might have offended him. I tried to piss. Air came out, a noise came out only audible to dogs came out, but my bladder remained full.

"Only an Irish man could cut him self like this." he said.

Why the hell did I answer him."Did you get in a scrap?"

"No just shaving."

I turned to my left and saw he was holding a disposable Bic razor.

It only occurred to me later that I was leaving my self incredibly exposed to a man who could at any time cut me, or even worse, shave me.

I made my goodbyes and decided to use the ladies, praying he wasn't in there as well.

Soma in sixty seconds

Created with Art-pad an online painting tool/toy that has the nifty feature of replaying images you just painted, stroke by stroke.

I had an hour with nothing better to do ( actually I had lots of better things to do, but they'll have to wait). I painted Opi8's mascot Soma ( as I usually do when I don't have any ideas of my own ) , in uncharacteristicly vibrant colours, because they didn't have any skin tone on offer and I suck at colour mixing and the whole thing got slower than a ZX spectrum towards the end.

Mad Bank!

While I'm sure there have been no visitors to this blog, barring me of course, that doesn't mean I can't try to make some cash from it. And here's my very first t-shirt based on the first readily available image on my hard drive, the illustration to Render below.

This is just what I whipped up in about an hour trying to work out the ins and outs of http://www.spreadshirt.net, even going to extreme lengths and reading the fine print before I clicked OK. Already It seems streets ahead of Cafepress (a site which I haven't actually used so correct me if I'm wrong) in that it allows a better range of dark colours (goths and emo-kids rejoice) and one or two colours on colour prints.

Fifteen squid, it's a bargain.

Rendered senseless.

It's five pm and Don is adjusting the vertices on David Caruso’s moustache, giving it a dignified tidiness that his own equally ginger moustache lacked.

His had a matching beard, both were unkempt and slowly taking on a life all of their own. David Caruso plays the wizened tram conductor among other characters. Don is one 3D designer among many. He didn't animate any more.

He reaches under his desk and takes out his briefcase. Opening it he reveals a collapsed bicycle frame, he unfolds it and screws on the horn. As he saddles up he hits return, starting the intricate series of processes that turn points in 3D space into a magical experience for the winter holidays.

Render, my first published short story is up now at Opi8.com

Testing

You know someday some pretentious geek is going to collect every awkward test message a blog has ever had and compile a massive list. He or she will then put it on their blog until some sad fucker as dull as them sees it, eventually it'll get linked to on other blogs and soon after they'll boast of being boing boinged and will think it makes them somewhat worth while.

If you are such a person, I do not consent to the use of this awkward test post in such a project.

If you are not such a person and are kind of bewildered by all of this just ignore it and remember that life is not a test, but this post is.
